NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, JANUARY 18TH:  No school in observance of Martin Luther King Day and teacher in-service.  Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 19th.  

MORRISTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT MERGER VOTE DATE:  Tuesday, January 19th.  Absentee ballots are available at the Town Clerk’s Office.

YRBS FIELD TRIP:  Peter Hathaway will be escorting four 8th grade student members of the Youth Risk Behavior Screening (YRBS) group to the Vermont State House in Montpelier on Thursday, January 21st by invitation of Senator Sears for testimony regarding legalization of marijuana.  Following student testimonies, the students have been invited to attend the Children and Family Council for Prevention Programs (CFCPP) which is a State Advisory Group on juvenile justice matters.  Lunch will be provided by the CFCPP.

JOHNSON STATE COLLEGE STUDENTS AT PAML:  Seven JSC student interns will again this year be spending two mornings a week at PAML for their practicum between January 25th - May 2nd, and will be supervised and mentored by our middle level teachers.  Goals for these JSC students will be to develop their professional dispositions, gain a better understanding of what it means to be a teacher, and to gain experience working with students in a variety of ways, i.e, 1:1, small group and whole class.

REMINDER:  On Wednesday, January 27th, the Youth Risk Behavior Screening Group (YRBS) will spend their day at the Vermont State House.  Their visit will include Prevention Champion Awards, visiting with legislators and special guest, Dr. Wilson M. Compton, Deputy Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), and lunch with Shap Smith.

8TH GRADE FIELD TRIP TO GMTCC:  The 8th grade class will take a field trip and tour of the Green Mountain Technology & Career Center (GMTCC) on Friday, January 29th, from 9:00am-12:30pm.  Lunch will be provided to students at GMTCC.
