MEMORIAL DAY FEDERAL HOLIDAY ON MONDAY:  There will be no school In observance of the Memorial Day Federal Holiday on Monday, May 30th.  Have a wonderful, safe weekend with family and friends!

8TH GRADE STUDENT BABY PICTURES NEEDED:  If your 8th grade student has not yet brought in their baby picture for the 2016 Last Chapel video, please have them do so next week.  Pictures can be dropped off (which will be returned to you) with Mr. Noonan or sent digitally via e-mail at:

MAPLE LEAF PROJECT:  Sixth grade students will participate in the annual ‘Maple Leaf Project’ for three days - Tuesday, May 31st through Thursday, June 2nd, 9:00-11:00am.  Students have been assigned to local community businesses for these three days, and will ‘learn the ropes’ of how each business is operated.  Be sure to ask your student about the business they are learning about, and what they were involved in as part of this learning experience!    

CAMP KEEWAYDIN:  Fifth grade students will depart PAML on Tuesday, May 31st at 8:30am, and return on Friday, June 3rd at 2;30pm, as they make their annual trek to Camp Keewaydin in Salisbury, Vermont which has been an ongoing tradition at PAML for over thirty years!  The Keewaydin Environmental Education Center (KEEC) offers hands-on learning in a variety of natural habitats where students are empowered with a higher understanding of how their personal daily decisions can affect the environment.  

HIGH NOTE MUSIC FESTIVAL:  Seventh and eighth grade students in Band and Chorus will travel by bus to the ‘High Note Music Festival’ being held at The Great Escape in Lake George, New York on Friday, June 3rd.  Students will depart PAML by bus at 5:00am with a return at approximately 8:00pm, and will need to be picked up at PAML at this time.

8TH GRADERS TO COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF VERMONT:  Half of the 8th grade class have been invited to the Community College (CCV) in Morrisville on Wednesday, June 8th, 9:15am-12:15pm, to visit the CCV campus, attend mock classes, hear from a CCV student panel, and learn about college opportunities.  There will also be information on financial aid and paying for college, and the goal is to help demystify college and show how affordable and accessible higher education can be on a local level.  CCV will provide busing and lunch for our students.

INTERNATIONAL SPRING FLING:  On Friday, June 10th from 8:00am-2:45pm, all PAML students will participate in an international, multi-cultural day of learning about and participating in international presentations, games, and activities both inside the middle level and outside on the fields.  Please ensure your student wears appropriate attire and footwear to partake in a full day of inside and outside activities.  

8TH GRADE LAST CHAPEL:  Eighth grade Class of 2020’s Last Chapel will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, 12:45-2:30pm, in the gymnasium.  Following Last Chapel PA Principal Phil Grant will meet with the 8th grade Class of 2020 in the cafeteria from 2:30-2:45pm to congratulate and welcome them to high school.  

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR 8TH GRADE STUDENTS:  Tuesday, June 14th, at 2:45pm.

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION’S “KAN JAM” FUNDRAISER:  PAML is once again supporting the AHA on Monday, May 20th (rain date will be May 27th), for a fun afternoon of activities outside on the PA athletic fields from 1:30-2:40pm.  Students, faculty and staff will have the option of a few activities to support this great cause.  Activities will include ultimate games inside the track, “Kan Jam” competitions, or students may just choose to support the participants.  Students and adults who participate will have fun, be active, and understand the importance of supporting a worthwhile non-profit organization in a school community event.  All participants and spectators are encouraged to wear red on event day.

7TH GRADE FIELD TRIP TO THE VERMONT STATE HOUSE:  The 7th grade students in Ms. Kelly’s and Mr. Griffin’s core teams will go to the Vermont State House in Montpelier on Tuesday, May 24th, to celebrate a PAML peer’s winning poster for the Vermont Secretary of State.  Students will depart PAML by bus at 8:05 am and return at approximately 1:45pm.

NECAP TESTING:  The NECAP (New England Common Assessment Program) testing for 8th grade science students will occur May 24th, 25th, 26th.  

7TH GRADE AWARENESS PROJECT FAIR will be held on Thursday, May 26th, 8:30 - 10:00am, in the cafeteria.  Parents, guardians, and family members are invited to celebrate these student achievements together!

BRIDGE STREET TRAFFIC HAS BEEN RE-ROUTED:  Bridge Street from Brooklyn Street to the truck route has closed for approximately six weeks to replace the water lines, sidewalks and repave the street.  The “old” route through town and up Brooklyn Street will be open.  Students will all need to be picked up/dropped off on the lower end of Bridge Street.  All students that live on this section of Bridge Street will be responsible for using the traffic light to cross the truck route and get back over to that side of Bridge Street during this construction.  This will impact Bus #25-M4

LOOKING AHEAD!  Eighth grade Last Chapel will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, 12:45-2:30pm, in the gymnasium.  Eighth grade students will be dismissed for the summer following Last Chapel.  The last day of school for 5th-6th-7th grade students is Wednesday, June 15th, and students will be dismissed at 11:30am.

SBAC TESTING ADMINISTRATION WINDOW:  The SBAC (Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium) test will continue to be administered to all PAML students in grades 5-6-7-8 throughout the testing window dates of May 16-20.

8TH GRADE FUNDRAISING DINNER:  The 8th grade will be holding their annual fundraising dinner on Thursday, May 19th, 6:00-8:00pm, in the cafeteria.  Bring the whole family for a hearty dinner of soup, salad, bread and dessert.  Fun for all with a silent auction and game show!  The cost for this delicious meal is $7.00 per person and $25.00 per family.

TERM 7 EXPO & EXPERT CLASSES BEGIN:  Monday, May 9th

EVENT PLANNING COMMITTEE TO THE CAPITAL CITY PLAZA!  Ms. Grossman’s 8th grade Event Planning Committee will attend a conference at the Capital City Plaza in Montpelier on Friday, May 13th, 8:30am-3:00pm.  This committee has worked hard in their planning efforts for this year’s ‘International Spring Fling’ and will present their plans to other school teams at this day-long event.
